Production Manager

FHI is currently seeking a full time manager in our switching department. Hours vary, but typically Production Manager- Switching works 4:30AM-2PM.
Description of Duties:
Production Managers primarily perform supervisory and other management responsibilities within our switching department by managing the day to day activities of our switchers and yard jockeys.
Production Managers are the primary decision makers regarding distributing switching assignments to switchers and coordinating switching activities through the direction of leads and backup leads.
Production Managers perform hands on switching tasks. They manage and have ultimate responsibility for the accurate and timely completion of administrative paper work for reporting daily activity to the corporate office.
The Production Manager is responsible for ensuring compliance with all FHI policies and procedures. (See your manager for a copy of the complete job description).
Qualifications and Requirements:
High school education or equivalent combination of education and experience.
3+ years of switching or tractor trailer operation experience.
Ability to speak and write English for effective communication.
Basic math skills.
Attention to detail and ability to follow directions.
Mental reasoning capabilities and mature problem-solving skills while managing multiple priorities.
Interact respectfully and courteously with associates, co-workers, management, customers and vendors.
Demonstrate safety consciousness and set tone for safe, productive, respectful work environment.
Demonstrate understanding of preventive measures to reduce freight and property damage.
Demonstrate interest in and understanding of all FHI policies and procedures and other employment issues.
Leadership skills and ability to supervise people and production effectively.
Must have valid driver's license and pass consumer background checks.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
