Components Engineer I

Assists with analyzing and designing routine new components or products and improving existing components or products. Assists with designs or improves routine components and products with a solid understanding of design tools and methods. Optimizes routine components and products with a solid understanding of analysis methods. Assists in solving routine problems with a solid aptitude for problem solving skills. May assist in capturing voice of customer and development of simple product specifications. Translates customer needs to manufacturing requirements. Assists in developing routine test plans from existing test protocol for routine products or components.
Responsibility within the Commercial Industrial (C&I) business segment for electronic component selection, documentation, and validation Specific responsibilities include:
Works with sourcing and electronic contract manufacturers to identify long lead time components
Identifies MCO opportunities on a component level
Identifies alternative components based upon the above opportunities
Leads sample builds at electronics CMs
Coordinates testing done in global labs
Updates documentation and the bill of materials
Leads the ECR/ECO for the production change
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors of Science in Electrical, Electronics or Software Engineering or Technology
Experience in the design and development of electronics - Schematic and PCB Layout
Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
Desired Qualifications:
Familiar with RoHS and EHS guidelines.
Familiar with test procedures for EMI, hipot, transient, ESD, and others.
Familiar with agency testing - UL, CSA, IEC, etc
Familiar with IoT technologies
Commercial motor application experience
Six Sigma Training/Certification (Green Belt / DFLSS)

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
